  • The Asemapäällikönhovi building is a highly mixed-use complex (about 75% varied commercial uses and 25% residential) designed by architect Eino Tuompo and completed in 1976. It is located in the Helsinki district of East Pasila which was built 1973–1979 with urban planning lead by architect Reijo Jallinoja beginning in the late 1960's. The district features a raised pedestrian level that all buildings engage with. Asemapäällikönhovi is 12 floors high from the lowest basement level to the top of the residential wing and is constructed of both cast and prefabricated concrete. Its façades are varied and feature exposed aggregate concrete, smooth concrete and wood form imprint in cast concrete structures. The 30 pilotis that the building's residential wing sits atop are striking and draw reference to the work of Le Corbusier. The building has attracted international filmmakers from as far as China and has been featured in Nordic TV advertisements and shows. The array of large satellite dishes on its roof are a local landmark and became operational in 1982 when they enabled the first satellite-to-ground TV transmissions in Europe. The building hosts 60 flats, a TV production studio, data centre, grocery store, offices, restaurants, a self-storage facility and a rooftop swimming pool among many other uses.

  • In good condition, fully occupied with commercial and residential users, well-maintained over the years.
