Erhard Fischer: St. Christophorus, 1969?–1970

  • Ingolstadt-Friedrichshofen, Germany, Show on map
  • #REL #Western Europe
  • The cubic volume encloses the central sanctuary, which boasts walls structured in a manner that abstracts from traditional approaches.

  • Originally exposed concrete, now painted, which unfortunately impairs the material aesthetics. However, it is not threatened by demolition or major structural interventions.

This building was included in the red list, published in our exhibition catalog SOS Brutalism: A Global Survey (September 2017). After a status review on December 13, 2024, it was reclassified in the online database from red (endangered) to gray (least concerned / unknown).
