  • The Surry Hills Police Center was built in several stages between 1978 and 1987. The elongated building was constructed in exposed concrete. Horizontal and vertical elements rhythmize the building's form and façade. A large part of the complex is below ground level and houses a 100-meter shooting range, forensic laboratories and holding cells.

  • In use.

This building was included in the red list, published in our exhibition catalog SOS Brutalism: A Global Survey (September 2017). After a status review on November 26, 2024, it was reclassified in the online database from red (endangered) to gray (least concerned / unknown).
