Wilson, Morris, Crain & Anderson: Houston Post (today: Houston Chronicle), ?–1970

  • Houston, Texas, USA, Show on map
  • #PUB #Monolith #ConcreteMonster #North America
  • Exposed concrete building with castle-like design.

  • The Houston Post building now serves as the headquarters of the Houston Chronicle after the Post ceased operations in 1995. Since then, the building's exterior has been altered several times. Unfortunately, the originally exposed concrete façade was completely lost in the process. Today, the building appears painted and has been greatly altered by new large glass façades.

This building was included in the red list, published in our exhibition catalog SOS Brutalism: A Global Survey (September 2017). After a status review on September 30, 2024, it is still classified as red (endangered) in the online database.
