Wyndham Court is a large residential complex in central Southampton, comprising 184 flats and maisonettes, shops and restaurants. Its irregular, sculptural composition is characterized by projecting balconies, horizontal access decks and vertical lift towers. The façades are made of white, board-marked concrete, with alternating open and solid balcony fronts creating a varied rhythm across the elevations. Built on sloping ground, the complex rises from six to seven storeys, with parts of the structure elevated on pilotis above an underground car park. The buildings enclose a private garden and a public courtyard, connected to the surrounding streets by pedestrian routes and ramps.
The choice of white concrete was intended to establish a visual relationship with Southampton’s nearby civic buildings, while giving the complex a distinctly urban character.

Wyndham Court has been subject to structural investigations and concrete repair works in recent years. In September 2024, Southampton City Council commissioned detailed structural surveys of three residential buildings, including Wyndham Court, to assess their condition and inform future maintenance decisions.
According to a municipal report published in July 2025, more than 1,000 concrete plugs at Wyndham Court had been removed and refixed as part of ongoing concrete repair works. The discovery of further concrete defects led to additional funding being allocated for structural repairs.
Fire safety improvements have also been planned, including the installation of sprinkler systems. However, the works were delayed due to additional approval requirements from the Building Safety Regulator. Municipal financial reports from January 2026 indicate further budget underspending associated with the fire safety upgrade and sprinkler installations in commercial and parking areas (last updated on October 27, 2026).
