The former city hall of Sunrise, Florida, was a five-story building with a distinctive façade rythmized by protruding concrete brise soleils. The fact that part of the building was suspended on columns gave it a particularly airy appearance.

Demolished around 2023/2024. A new City Hall has been built next door. A parking garage with 500 parking spaces, an extended amphitheater and a large lawn for outdoor events are now being built on the site of the old City Hall.
This building was included in the red list, published in our exhibition catalog SOS Brutalism: A Global Survey (September 2017). After a status review on September 25, 2024, it was reclassified in the online database from red (endangered) to black (demolished).
