  • A complex consisting of 4 interlocking buildings forms the culture and congress centre in Stuttgart. The centre is a flat square building which serves as a foyer and restaurant. Around it three geometrical halls are formed. The Mozart Hall has a pentagonal shape and a decorative façade consisting of quartz panels arranged in an irregular mosaic.  To the left of the main entrance is the cubic Silcher Hall which, together with the Liederkranz building, forms a stylistic unit. The façade was clad with clinker bricks in light and dark orange and brown shades. Irregular distribution leads here to different structures and patterns. On the long side of the hall there is a glass block window front which is divided by concrete struts. Part of the building stands on narrow pillars so that it almost seems to float.
The largest building is the Beethoven Hall, which is characterized by convex and concave lines. The relief worked into the concrete is reminiscent of a net with square spaces laid over the building. Colourful ceramic strips and buttons extend over the concave façade, the straight outer wall has been fitted with over 200 square windows.
