Gottfried Böhm: St. Johannes der Täufer, Catholic University Hospital Church, 1958–1966
- Cologne-Lindenthal, Germany, Show on map
- #REL #Western Europe
-
The building is part of a hospital and houses a church and an enclosue part. compared to Böhm’s later, expressive projects it exhibits a more restrained, minimalist approach to Brutalism. (Special thanks to Amelie Rogall and Boris Dorau)

Heritage protected since 2001. Today the enclosed part houses the hospital’s deanery. The building was restored with great care for its original design. After years of damages the exposed concrete has been restored meticulously, recreating the original structure and color in great detail (last updated on January 30, 2019).
