In 1986, the Architect António Moura projects a market to the west side of the avenue. He emerged to meet the needs of the inhabitants of Morro da Sé, becoming an important commercial and social stimulator of the old city. This was occupied by sellers of food and textile products, which as a result of consecutive vandalism and its natural degeneration, in 1995 is partially restructured.
The new market kept the original location, and the Architect Moura, this time, opted for a modular structure, dividing the market into five plates of concrete that were beating the quotas of the land through stairs.
The roof (also divided in five moments) is landscaped and punctually interrupted by the use of skylights to get the most out of it of natural light. The interior is provided with reinforced concrete benches, which provide about 45 individuals with "suitable" conditions for market their products. -
In use.
