Georg Rasch / Winfried Wolsky: Auferstehungskirche, 1965C–1968

A monumental tetrahedron represents the church building, two concrete walls, a copper sheet roof, almost dangerous it seems to the visitor. Strong formwork patterns extend over the concrete facades to the top and continue in the smaller, sculptural ensemble of geometric volumes, which serves as an optical replacement for a bell tower. The interior is also dominated by the formwork pattern. Light falling into the sparse space is caught in the structures, creating exciting contours and shadow plays.
Opposite the church entrance is a semi-circular building that houses the community centre and other rooms. -
