The arrangement of rooms and the appearance of the individual components were intended to give an idea of the world of information technology in the third millennium. The building is entirely made of exposed concrete, except for the metal cladding of the platform, and consists of three major parts: The base structure measures 45 x 100 m. The tower shaft is 331 m high, 295 m of which is designed as a concrete structure. On top there is a platform of 26 m height and 56 m diameter which accomodates the telecommunication equipment, an observation platform and a revolving restaurant. Written by Torsten Ahlers

The technical parts are still in use. But the building is closed for the public due to reqirements of structural fire protection which seem too expensive to be implemented. Heritag listed since 2021 (last updated on March 18, 2024).
