From a rectangular ground plan, the building staggers upwards, emphasizing the horizontal. Exposed concrete, sharply cut edges and deep window reveals characterize the façade.

The center was threatened by demolition, but plans for a new replacement building have been stalled due to lack of funding. In 2020, the university decided to re-focus on remodeling existing buildings instead of building new ones. Today, the Norris University Center is still in use (last updated on February 14, 2025).
