Among others, Denninger also designed the Saudi-Arabian Embassy (demolished in 2017) on the same road in a very similar design.

When Berlin became the new German capital in 1999, Iranian officials moved to a new Embassy in Berlin. The building has been vacant since 2000, but still belongs to the state of Iran. It was not adequately maintained, meaning that its structural condition increasingly deteriorated. During elections in Iran, the property still serves as a polling station for Iranians living in Germany. The future of the building is unclear (last updated on January 16, 2025).
