In April 2024, the Bonn City Council approved an urban development concept for the “Neue Quartier Bundesviertel”, which envisages the conversion of the buildings of the original Landesbehördenhaus into a quarter with apartments, office space, an elementary school and kindergarten as well as shopping facilities. However, according to media reports from December 2024, the project has already fallen through again. Future unclear (last updated on February 19, 2025).
