  • Between 1972 and 1980, a cultural complex was built on the banks of the Vardar River on approximately fifty thousand square meters with the neo-expressionist building of the Macedonian State Opera at its center. Responsible for the design is the Slovenian architectural group Biro 71. The building is made of white painted concrete and is rather unconventional in its form—an asymmetrical accumulation of seemingly stacking tectonic plates.

  • In use.
