  • In Tajikistan, architecture went through a highly creative phase in the early 1970s. For the first time, innovative construction technologies were linked with traditional forms of ar- chitecture. … By means of the shady courtyards, Parchov skillfully integrated a traditional element of Tajik folk architecture. They provide coolness in the summer and noise reduction at the same time. The gray cladding on the GKNB building’s façade contrasts with narrow, vertical strips made of red travertine.
