The complex consists of several staggered buildings. Exposed concrete surfaces and deeply recessed window zones emphasize the horizontal structure. The ensemble is crowned by a multi-storey cuboid with a sculptural-looking external staircase.

The Hochschule Esslingen is planning to move from the campus at Flandernstraße to the new Weststadt campus in 2026. The new building is currently under construction and is due to be completed in March 2026. The old building will then be demolished to make way for extensive residential development with shopping facilities, etc. However, the design process for the new development has not yet been completed (last updated on February 13, 2025).
