The Wollhaus is about to undergo a comprehensive redesign. Instead of a complete demolition, which was previously discussed, the existing building will be preserved but fundamentally rebuilt. The plan is to create an urban, green quarter with uses such as shopping, living and restaurants. However, part of the Wollhaus is to be demolished to make room for new structures. According to the plans of the responsible company Neufeld Immobilien GmbH, nothing of the brutalist façade will be visible after the redesign. The project is due to be completed by 2028 (last updated on February 13, 2025).
