Federico Beckhoff: Torre Humboldt, 1988?–1992

  • Caracas, Venezuela, Show on map

  • This tower belongs to a much greater urban complex called Prado Humboldt, designed entirely by Federico Beckhoff. This was the last building he ever created. Corporative function rises over a commercial basement, which complements with generous public space (nowadays fenced). There used to be a luxurious car concessionare, accessible by car throughout an elevator found in the basement. The death of the architect in 1982, and the Venezuelan financial crisis of 1983 paralyzed the construction, which ended finally in 1992.
