The monstrous and expressionistic building represents the lecture hall of the university. Becoming more massive towards the front and ending with sharp edges, the building appears almost threatening. In the inside of the building, I. Kolefas created in 1983-84 a large vivid mosaic, which illustrates the history of Thessaloniki. The architects C. Fines and C. Pappaiouannou received a prize for the building.
