Hans Kammerer / Walter Belz: Resurrection of Christ Church (Kirche Zur Auferstehung Christi), 1967–1970

-
Cubic church with a 33 meters high campanile. The main room is made up of three staggered trapezoidal cubes which are pushed into one another in a rotating motion. This creates a dynamic impression. The architects chose exposed concrete with imprints of the wooden formwork for the design of both, the in- and exterior. According to the 2nd Vatican Council, this design decision creates a connection between outside and inside, between the human life and God.

In the course of renovation works, the outer walls were covered with a protective plaster, so that the wood structure of the concrete is no longer visible from the outside.
