  • The National Library building resembles palace architecture. The design is brutalist and with its architectural decoration it reminds of the Boston City Hall. Still, the brutalist impression gets mitigated by the natural stone slabs with which the façade is clad. The Building has a representative staircase in a spaciously designed forecourt. A massive upper floor with embrasure-like window slits arranged in pairs seems to rest on the pre-faded scaffold-like structure of the 1st and 2nd floors with deeply incised small windows.
