"Nicknamed the 'Sphinx' for its sculptural concrete entranceway perhaps inspired by the ancient Egyptian monument, the Bank of California is one of San José's most important Brutalist landmarks."

Demolished in 2021. The brutalist building will be replaced by an office complex on that area. There was a petition against it (last updated on February 14, 2025).
