This coastal hotel in Southern Greece was formerly a jetset favourite. In 1981 it gained company from the stranded ship Dimitrios on the beach below.

The Hotel Lakonis was once a luxurious hotel frequented by celebrities such as Angelina Jolie. However, it has been empty and derelict since 2002. In the meantime, vandalism in the form of graffiti left its mark. The building is reportedly to be renovated and reopened as a Radisson Blu Resort in 2025. It is unclear whether the original architectural design will be preserved or restored in accordance with conservation guidelines (last updated on February 14, 2025).
