Gerd Meyer-Eggers: Paulus Church, 1971

  • Lüneburg, Germany, Show on map
  • #REL #Western Europe
  • The church rises on an oval floor plan, the roof is of concave shape. Plane colonnades surround the nave. The detached belfry reminds of a giant skyscraping tuning fork. For construction such materials as exposed concrete, glazing, stainless steel and wood were used. The walls on ground floor are made of washed out concrete.

  • In use. Concrete painted at the bottom of the belfry which is misused as a cell phone tower.
