Axially symmetrical high-rise slab that is extremely elongated at 17 meters wide, 54 meters high and 217 meters long. The 13-storey exposed concrete building is structured by the closed façades of two elevator towers, which vertically break up the horizontal grid of rectangular windows. The Bundesbank headquarters marks the rise of Frankfurt as a banking metropolis and is one of ABB’s main works.

Heritage protected since 2022. The Headquarters of Deutsche Bundesbank, with its uniquely high-quality artistic furnishings designed as Gesamtkunstwerk, is one of the most impressive and best-preserved large-scale buildings of late modernism in Germany and a cultural monument in accordance with § 2 Abs. 1 HDSchG due to its historical, urban planning and artistic significance. Planned refurbishment from 2020 to 2027 (last updated on March 14, 2024).
