During World War II, the old church building under the patronage of Saint Anthony in Koblenz-Lützel was destroyed. A new one was built on a different location in the same district in 1968–69. The new parish center comprises the church, steeple, kindergarten and parsonage house. The architect Hanns Schönecker organized the building parts by interweaving them with each other. For example, the material of the seemingly freestanding cubic exposed concrete tower is continued in the church interior via an exposed concrete canopy that appears to both extend into the tower and transition into the church. The outer walls of the church itself are clinkered and support a slate roof that initially appears ordinary from the outside. Once inside, however, its crystalline form is revealed, which is further emphasized by the wooden ceiling cladding.
