-
Sunken plaza and amphitheater built alongside Orchestra Hall in downtown Minneapolis. The design includes several concrete blocks with imprinted wood pattern from the formwork featuring a reflecting pool that can be drained for events and numerous fountains and seating areas.Â
-
Listed on the national register of historic places in 2013, recently restored after a preservation battle to prevent filling it in and raising the plaza to street level. A $10 million restoration/renovation by Coen+Partners with Fluidity Design and Tillett Lighting Design completed in July 2019 to increase accessibility while still respecting original designs (last updated on October 18, 2024).
