The 26-story Hotel Don Juan is an iconic brutalist tower located in the isthmus between Las Canteras Beach and Puerto de la Luz. Designed by Pedro Massieu Verdugo in the early 1960s, it features bold concrete forms and functionalist principles. The building served as a tourist landmark during Gran Canaria’s 1960s tourism boom and remains a defining part of Las Palmas’ skyline.

In use. The building now operates as the AC Hotel by Marriott. Despite modern updates, the structure retains its brutalist integrity and continues to be a prominent architectural feature of the city (last updated on December 20, 2025).
