The 17-story Karaburma Residential Housing Tower, also known as “Toblerone,” by Rista Šekerinski (1963) is a striking example of Yugoslav Brutalism. Its nickname derives from the characteristic jagged façade of concrete loggias, reminiscent of the peaks of a Toblerone chocolate bar. The sculptural structure not only gives the tower a high recognition value, but also serves to rhythmically structure the massive concrete construction.
